TV Stands
There are a wide variety of TV Stands, probably more than there are types of TVs. SmartAVsolutions review the best available stands on the market to be sure that our range of stands meets very high standards.
When speaking of TVs there are a number of types of TV on offer in the marketplace. CRT TVs, LCD TVs and Plasma TVs. We have TV stands for all types. CRT Tvs are what we might understand to be the usual type of TV with a Cathode Ray tube. These are more and more being superseded by the flat panel types, namely LCD and Plasma TVs.
CRT TVs are generally heavier than the flat panels (though not in all instances) and on our site we generaly use the term TV Stand for stands that were designed with these types of TV in mind. Almost all of our stands would be suitable for CRT TVs however, you just need to check the weight of the TV and whether the dimensions of the base, or feet, will sit on the TV stand you have in mind. LCD TV Stands
LCD TVs are usually the lightest of the types of TV for the same screen sizes. With all types of TV the manufacturers print the weight on the box or container and in the manual. This information is also usually on the TV itself, on a specification or model panel, and the manufacturer's normally publish the weight and TV specification on their website.
The LCD flat panels are also thinner than CRT TVs, so stands that are designed for them are narrower and sit closer to the wall. However, the depth must still be enough to accommodate AV equipment such as satellite receivers and DVD players that need to be close to the display.
The Audio-Visual equipment also will have cables, such as scart, RF leads and power leads, and many of our stands have Cable Management systems built in to help to organise these cables and give a neater appearance to your display.
Plasma TV Stands
Plasma TVs are often heavier than LCD panels but they have a similar form factor. Our TV stands are designed for the weights of all types of TVs, just check the weight of the TV and the advised weight on the details pages of our stands.
